Planned Personal experiment

SameSame

Can I remove complexity?

Connect through shared interests: no labels, no pressure.

Planned: structured and scoped, not built yet.

The problem

Most social and dating apps lead with photos and swiping, so people connect on appearance before they know whether they actually have anything in common. SameSame flips that: you build a profile from the interests and passions you actually care about, set an optional connection intention (friends, dating, business, or just open), and matching happens on overlap, not a stack of faces to swipe through.

What the first version will explore

The MVP is four features, deliberately not more: interest-based profiles built from popular or custom tags; smart matching on overlapping interests plus an optional intention (friends, dating, business, or open); an Explore page surfacing trending interests and nearby or global users; and mutual- or group-opt-in chat, so messaging only opens once both sides want it, cutting spam and pressure. No feed, no endless scroll, no superficial swiping: the whole philosophy is authentic, low-pressure, mentally-healthy connection, designed around what people actually care about rather than how they look in a thumbnail.
